The Opportunity

Claris the Mouse has established a strong global presence through publishing and character IP, with a visual identity that resonates across children’s lifestyle, fashion-illustration heritage and brand-driven storytelling. The opportunity emerged to extend that IP into bedding and home textiles — a natural growth category that allows Claris to move from illustration and licensing into everyday functional homes goods, reaching a broader demographic.

Linen House, as a major player in home linen and décor manufacturing and retail, had the production capacity, design-to-market infrastructure and distribution footprint to bring a Claris bedding collection to life at scale. Their expertise in premium textile finishing made them a suitable partner to preserve Claris’s character integrity while delivering consumer-ready product at scale.

Brand Shout was engaged to structure the licensing deal, clarify commercial terms, manage intellectual property rights and steward the collaboration from pitch, to contract through to production approvals - ensuring that the partnership remained commercially viable and aligned with the brand’s strategic ambitions.

The Collection

The Claris The Mouse x Linen House Collection launched as a full bedding and home textile range.

The offering included quilt cover sets, sheet sets, pillowcases, novelty plush cushions, playmats and floor rugs, all featuring signature Claris illustrations and designed to extend the brand into the home-textile category. The collection combined cotton percale bedding with decorative accessories and character-led pieces, creating a broad multi-category range for both children’s rooms and design-conscious interiors.

David Jones was the retail launch partner, with the collection subsequently expanding into Myer, THE ICONIC and Temple & Webster following its success. Selected SKUs were also ranged by FAO Schwarz at its New York flagship, where they sold out, extending the collaboration into an internationally recognised retail environment.
